This entire discussion hinges upon the important question each reader must answer: Are you trying to rationalize the unknown or not? If your answer is ‘not,’ then there is little point in reading further.

Both those responding pro and con are missing something that even OP missed. You can not allow words to hurt you and the person saying the hurtful things can still be wrong.
Have you been... watching me?
Everyone is visualizing a long slippery slope, libs to a just public shaming of unjust and meanspirited people, cons (pun intended) to spiteful collective punishment leading to violence against their beautiful innocent spirits. I think it’s a news bite, a story that may last a weeks worth of news cycles.
I agree in theory, though it’s easy to find proof in the news that rich people are cheap. ;D
I think you responded to the wrong post. I was allaying fears, not inciting them. PriceWaiter seems a useful service.
OK, I guess if it’s something that gets knocked off, you could take it to a store that sells the thing and have them examine it for free. Places with items that get knocked off are always happy to tell people how their items are inferior. Jewelry store for watches, Coach store for bags, etc... Call the mfg and check…
You can get your credit card to resolve any knock-off issues. Sure, there’s a nuisance factor, but virtually no risk.
After getting a sleep number bed with a memory foam topper, I found it very hot in the summer. I suffered until I took a chance on a bed fan:
I got an induction burner which led me to getting more cast iron pans. These chain-mail scrubbers are terrific. They remove food without removing curing.

1) Though I can see where Ledger’s Joker character behavior points to some skill at mind-gamery, and thus Patton Oswalt’s background analysis, I don’t agree with the PTSD diagnosis.
500+ just on Steam. Feel ya bro.
I think this is well discussed, breaking down many of the arguments, though with the unfortunate assumption that ‘the other side always has the megaphone, so I can just dismiss them without presenting any sound arguments against my point of view.’
Karl Marx (who commented on the fledgling Marxist movement by saying ‘If they are Marxists then I myself am not a Marxist’) made many predictions about labor and industry and their effect on society and government. Almost all his predictions came to pass.
I, too, find the ‘knowing’ inference unproven.
NBC, have you seen Lucifer?
I watched an instructional video on how to stay safe in a twister in ‘96. Here’s what I learned:
There is soooo much to unpack in this movie and I am notoriously long-winded. So, I’ll focus my first post-spoiler comment on only one thing.
Those who corrected me about newspapers are correct in detail if not in the broader argument. I picked a poor example. Newspapers use variable width spaces, still with readability in mind, however, those spaces are mostly single, so a big asterisk certainly should go next to my statement.
Let me just point out that newspapers, notoriously tight about use of typespace, removing every ‘unnecessary’ grammatical feature up to and including the ‘Oxford comma’ always used two spaces after a sentence.
