He has AWFUL hair! AWFUL.

Doing shitty things and saying shitty things, yes okay, I get it.

But today you look at the other side and you’re the enemy. Not the opposition, the enemy. We don’t talk to each other anymore”

Right? He wasn’t PRAISING these racists he was merely saying he can be civil and work WITH racists! RACISTS RESPECTED AND WORKED WITH HIM!

At the expense of marginalized groups. Awesome, just what we’ve all been waiting for.

Your comment is an island of good in a Sea of AWFUL. People read this article and thought ‘you know what? I’m going to give this person diet advice!’ and ‘I see what your saying BUT... fat people are just unhealthy’ and ‘I think fat shaming my friends will help their health!’

I never got to attend high school due to medical issues BUT I still had to deal with guidance counselors and district staff AND LET ME TELL YOU, they were so super understaffed. They lost me. MY ENTIRE TRANSCRIPT. Not once, BUT TWICE. They did not have resources to deal with a student who could not go to school AT

You said what I was trying to say SO MUCH BETTER THAN ME. You are my favorite.

Whoa. I’m not really sure what to say this.

It is true that a 17 year old can’t know how they will feel at other ages. I don’t think a suffering person should have to wait and see if that is not what they want . Ultimately that 17 year old was the only one who knew what she was going through BUT her family and doctors were also there every step and they

I completely agree there should be MORE, and better care available, always.

I totally agree. Unfortunately from what I read she had to drop out of school because her illnesses were so severe. I am guessing that isolation didn’t help. It was a shitty situation all around. I know a 17 year old brain isn’t fully formed and that a lot of 17 year olds shouldn’t make life or death decisions. I also

They did not have a specialized facility geared toward her specific needs, true. As I said there should have been MORE help available. I think there should ALWAYS be more help available for trauma victims and mental health in general.

I never said that a 17 year old brain was as fully formed as a 25 year old brain. That does not change the trauma. Would she feel differently about that trauma at 25? Maybe, maybe not. Would she feel different at 59? Probably. You can name any age, you can name drugs and treatments all of them COULD change things.

The being a minor thing gives me a lot of pause and icky feelings but I think that if they have sought out treatment for an extended period of time and tried and then even their parents are like ‘yeah we get it’ that makes it different.

I think when you look at a 27 year old and 27 year old you say ‘well obviously they are different they are older, their world has expanded, they have different responsibilities, different possibilities!’ And maybe. Maybe not. I can tell you from experience that the mental illnesses I have had all my life did not magica

So many people are outraged either way and that is interesting to me. For some reason people think that other humans lives are their domain.

A sick person does not owe it to anyone to “get better” at all costs.”

I started watching when they see us and got 40 minutes in to the first episode before I started bawling and had to shut it off. I will finish it because I think it is important but holy shit it broke me.

There aren’t even words anymore.
