4th Gear: On Trade, Trump Thinks The Germans Are Bad, But So Are The Koreans

7:51.110. That’s the S60 Polestar’s ‘ring time. Now, I know there’s a heavy “ring times don’t matter!” crowd around here, but when an honest Volvo Wagon is circling tracks faster than a Focus RS, you’d expect Jalops to rejoice.

I’ll miss you, Volvo. Enjoy your marketshare of rich soccer mom dollars. While you

This. I’d like to see what engine, transmission, and axle ratio they’re using. That diesel tractor is accelerating obscenely slow.

It’s not worth doing. Math follows.

This.
Tractor trailers get about 5mpg & have 300 gallong tanks. Ballpark figures.

So... they’re not on fumes till well over 1000 miles.
Turns out ENERGY DENSITY of fossil fuels still massively outstrips all electric options.

I’m not a Luddite; we need to move on from fossil fuels eventually.
But the love affair this

Aka the Elon Musk playbook.

How is it a production car if they haven’t produced nor sold any?

You should check out the latest iterations of donks. Forget everything you thought about sky-high junkers with 48" wheels with electrical tape tires.

I feel bad for those first customers. They will take delivery and might as well go straight to a service center for eventual gaps in panels and quality issues in assembly.

They are skeptical because Musk is a novice who brags like no tomorrow every time he hears a new to him concept about manufacturing yet the entire car industry has been using for decades. Some examples his hard on for robots/automation when the entire industry has been using robots for 40 to 50 years and experimenting

I have, and I subscribe to it. I’m no Tesla hater, but their cars, especially the Model X, have been riddled with quality control problems. Musk’s continual more-faster-now pushing, pushes a lot of problems that should be sorted before production, into vehicles sold to the public.

That is not fair at all. The Mazda 3 looks much better front and real.

Less than a month from launch and we still haven’t seen final production interior, spec sheet, options list, or pricing. Early customers get two options (wheels and color), but is their car still $35k? Or does it have $15k of options (or more)?

No, they will definitely roll out. The first 30 will go to Tesla employees, and they will all give it rave reviews.

I hope a lot of people buy these. I won’t be one of them.

“the most valuable car company in the world”

No dingo balls or chain link steering wheels?
I know of two particular individuals who would be miffed...

What are you doing on here with those legitimate questions?

Don’t ever, ever steal a woman’s purse..........pregnant or not! Hell hath no fury.

My 3 takeaways from this are:
