My uncle bought a brand new FJ40 back in the late ‘70s, and wheeling with him as a kid was when I fell in love with offroading. If I had a cool $30-40k laying around, I’d buy a restored one. They are absolutely wonderful vehicles.

The FJ was/is a very good offroader, but compared to a Wrangler it’s just impossible to see out of. The greenhouse is too small, and the front dash too big.
