No, it’s definitely not in the center of the dash anymore. It’s on the door. Not sure what you’re seeing. If it’s the car with a green circle around it, it’s the Intelligent Safety menu button.

I guess BMW cares more about the radar sensors actually performing their intended function than how much your insurance will have to pay if you ram your front end up someone’s ass. What a concept.

You referred to them as the xDrive M40i and M50i, but in everything I’m seeing from BMW they’re just the X5 xDrive40i and xDrive50i.  Am I missing something here?  I know they’re putting an “M” on everything these days, but I don’t see it on these. Yet.

Nitro World Games on Saturday and Sunday.  Pastrana made it, so I’m pretty sure someone is going to die.

Salt.

Seriously. Looks like it’s running around just yelling out “krillllll” all the time.

Is that really an accomplishment though?

The funniest part of this is the “told by someone in a suit and tie” bit. Have you ever been to a Ford dealership? How about one in South Florida? Haha

Is this the first car to start this whole “Vision” bandwagon that everyone is jumping on these days with their concepts? I’m thinking I should take a big crap, name it the Smithpoop Vision Concept Next GT (Gran Turd-ismo), and have people pay me just to see pictures of it.

Oh, I agree with you completely. It’s never going to be as a RWD car. I meant to say more that a 50/50 bias is better than 100% FWD. And in the case of the X2, it’s good, even for an AWD car. Luckily for those of us who prefer RWD though, we won’t have to give up RWD cars from BMW anytime soon (if ever).

Honestly, the FWD platform doesn’t kill the X2. Everyone seems to forget that it’s actually an AWD car, with a pretty clever power distribution system (unless you get the FWD version, which... then YOU’RE the problem). Sure, it’s transverse mounted and based on a FWD. Big deal. Having spent quite a lot of time in the

If you’re actually curious, the inner gape is the inlet for a brake-cooling duct. The outer is the inlet for the “air curtain” that exits just in front of the outside edge of the tire. Same sort of vents that BMW has had on their bumpers for quite a while now. Not all of them get the brake ducts, but they all have

So, couldn’t they just ask the guys if they used gas?  Or, you know, watch the CCTV footage to see if they had any equipment when they went in or came out?

Also in Saint Tropez, I hear.

So how would you title it instead? Even F1 themselves (I guess Liberty Media?) called it the “fastest lap ever” because “fast” implies speed in general. Not just lap times. Yeah it’s a broad term, but I personally think it sounds better than “Raikkonen Sets the Highest Average Speed (but Definitely not Quickest by Elap

As opposed to what, like, round or something...? Come on man, now you’re just screwing with me.

Yes, finally. Over a decade ago...

Irony anyone?

If anyone is interested, ARX Rallycross is live right now on YouTube and Facebook. Pretty good racing.

Just so you know, you can run it in RWD mode.
