I’m actually upset that their government won’t allow them to get a divorce for whatever reason they want.
Call me old-fashioned, but, my parents taught me that if I couldn’t take care of it, I wasn’t ready to have it.
Poison for sure.
...actually, there IS precedent for this in some child development studies. The rise of “branded” kids’ toys has some interesting effects on imagination and attention. When you had to pretend a stick was a wand, you got to make up the rules. It was your world. Now, when you buy a Harry Potter(TM) brand wand, the world…
Eh... these stories - both fun and charming as they are - are presented as real. The humor is that they actually happened. They’re charming because we can laugh along with the main character (or cry along with, or be frustrated along with, etc). When it becomes clear that there’s no way they could have happened, they…
Agreed. The comic universe is massive; they had literal thousands of characters to draw from. Probably tens of thousands. Playing through the tutorial gave you two different batmans. It was myopic and weird.
Yeah, I don’t doubt that she was handed an opened soda by the attendant. But I am surprised at her statement that the man across the aisle said “You Muslim, you need to shut the fuck up.”
You ever hear that old chestnut about people turning purple? It goes like this: gay rights would be a completely solved issue if everyone who is gay turned purple overnight. The idea, of course, being that half the people who rage against gay rights are themselves gay, and the other half knows / loves someone who…
I would like to go get a Carvel ice cream cake with you anytime. I haven’t thought about Carvel for years! They made cakes with those little chocolate crunchies in them. Oh man.
You are making a (valid, data-backed) point that many famous people actively campaign for gay rights while remaining silent about reproductive rights. And you get called a homophobe for it?
I phrased it this way:
Well, India does have a persistent systemic rape problem. I wouldn’t say anything different about the U.S., either.
I don’t mind these sorts of articles just for the shadenfreude. I mean, come on. Haven’t these people figured out that if something looks too good to be true, it probably is?
I feel absolutely no pity for “Justin” - he’s awful and got what he deserved. Read the (terrible) buzzfeed article if you don’t hate yourself for clicking on it. Justin made up a grand story about having met Leah at a bar, having hung out with her loads of times. He made up a wild fish story to dump Sonja.
Yeah; that would be the part where I laughed and left. Then, I would instantly share that information about that horrible practice - ironically, using the same social media.
I would love to know what companies these are that are asking for Facebook login information. I work in tech, so I’m pretty well insulated from crap like that. I would *never* work for a company that treated its employees like that; in fact, the idea of asking that question is crazy.
Good on her for filing the discrimination complaint. This could potentially be a landmark decision, and I wish her luck with it.
This also happens to me with really long games. I’d say if after fifty hours of main quests I still haven’t beat the game without grinding side quests I start getting impatient and start rushing around, using fast travels and even looking up guides for quests with the best rewards to help me progress.
It makes me mad when people like these two do pet play and sub/dom (and possibly humiliation) play in public and are then like, “What? We’re not doing anything!” It’s like when you were a kid and your sibling held their finger a millimeter from your eye and kept saying, “I’m not touching you!”
