I don’t mind these sorts of articles just for the shadenfreude. I mean, come on. Haven’t these people figured out that if something looks too good to be true, it probably is?

I feel absolutely no pity for “Justin” - he’s awful and got what he deserved. Read the (terrible) buzzfeed article if you don’t hate yourself for clicking on it. Justin made up a grand story about having met Leah at a bar, having hung out with her loads of times. He made up a wild fish story to dump Sonja.

Yeah; that would be the part where I laughed and left. Then, I would instantly share that information about that horrible practice - ironically, using the same social media.

I would love to know what companies these are that are asking for Facebook login information. I work in tech, so I’m pretty well insulated from crap like that. I would *never* work for a company that treated its employees like that; in fact, the idea of asking that question is crazy.

Good on her for filing the discrimination complaint. This could potentially be a landmark decision, and I wish her luck with it.

This also happens to me with really long games. I’d say if after fifty hours of main quests I still haven’t beat the game without grinding side quests I start getting impatient and start rushing around, using fast travels and even looking up guides for quests with the best rewards to help me progress.

It makes me mad when people like these two do pet play and sub/dom (and possibly humiliation) play in public and are then like, “What? We’re not doing anything!” It’s like when you were a kid and your sibling held their finger a millimeter from your eye and kept saying, “I’m not touching you!”

Poor guy. Poor manager. Poor everyone in this situation.

I find it reeeaaaally interesting that my generation (X, barely - I’m 34) gets lumped in either with Boomers or Millenials, depending on who is smugly telling us how much we suck.

Complete agreement.

If you are working at the kind of company where you think you’re being “monitored”, go back to school and find a better job. Holy crap.

And a little creepy, too.

“’Did you tell the girl what’s going to happen? That she cannot tell anybody?’

This would never happen - the red states get WAAAYYY too much welfare from blue states. If we chopped the nation in half, the red states would be in serious trouble.

I didn’t think I’d live to see Ireland vote on this one way or another in my lifetime. Good luck, Ireland! Fix women’s rights next, if you’ve got time!

I’m a massive fan of The Stand - I re-read King’s re-released version once every couple of years. I also own the enormous (and VERY awesome) graphic novel collection in hardcover form. I highly recommend both of those things.

I have an “unusual” name (which I ABHOR). It’s not ethnic, it’s just ugly and unpopular. Think something like Millicent and you’re on the right track. Similarly, my last name is ugly and weird (there are about 10 people on the planet with the last name I have).

Deluge. It’s quite literally perfect - it has every feature I want, with none I don’t. It’s lightweight and easy and it doesn’t install spyware or bloatware or bitcoin miners.

I think most of the people using it are likely non-technical and don’t understand the implications of the hidden buttcoin miner. I use Deluge.

I think you’re referencing The Stand, particularly Lloyd’s story. He meets with his lawyer, who discusses with him that he’ll likely be sent to death within the year using a related ruling - “Markham’s ruling”.
