Yeah - since learning the difference between allergy and not-allergy, I’ve taken pains to clear up my mistake. I like to learn, and when I do, I will cheerfully admit I’m wrong.

I grew up with a tight budget and a mother that loved to cook. I can count on both hands the number of times I ate restaurant food prior to college.

All the kitchen has to do to accommodate a preference is leave out the offending item. For an allergy, they have to change gloves, pans, cutting boards, grill panels, knives, everything. That’s a fuckload of work, and it puts all the other tickets behind.
