It's hilarious how different gadget geeks and gamer geeks are about some things. For all the times they are lumped together, this whole "controversy" just proves how different the mindsets really are.

Innovation lost. Stagnation won, that is a massive loss. We have the same consoles for another decade now. Today wasn't a celebration - it was extremely disappointing.
but they didn't. By ditching the DRM the Xbone lost its greatest feature, the family plan. It was the only thing on xbox i was looking forward to, now its gone, i guess i am going PS4 for sure now.
The only difference that matters:
Right on the money.
My biggest complaint with the ps4's features were that they seem like a half step up from the ps3 and were nothing really exciting. (games aside of course) Now the same can be said for the Xbox One.
Here's a thought, don't buy an Xbox.
They have eviscerated much of their online strategy by doing this, and killed a lot of great features in the process. These are some of the features I was most looking forward to, and now whichever evil we choose (MS or Sony) we're stuck in the current gen, but with prettier pixels.
Hope the complainers are happy, you wanted an Xbox 360 2 and you got one. I myself was looking forward to a new idea of console gaming system, but oh well.
Cloud computing could definitely turn the gaming world up a notch as long as it runs correctly. Am I the only person out there interested in seeing an end to Host Advantage and terrible online experiences due to someone elses terrible connection?
I knew comments like these were coming! Thanks for doing exactly what I was expecting!
"Hey Microsoft, cut out this always on shit, this policy is awful, change it then we'll talk!"
After this article
"Wow Microsoft, way to commit to your policy idiots!"
Bitch at a company to change their policies.
So... which admin was the stupid one that left auto-updates on? Because none of that shit would happen, especially on a server, unless a bad sysadmin allowed it to via poor configuration.
Kotaku should really set an age limit for people who are allowed to post here.
I don't read Nintendo crap. It's called having a vocabulary. And it does apply here, because the morons are running the asylum.
