I know people are tired of hearing this, but this is a hallmark of a totalitarian/authoritarian regime. On the plus side it works to our benefit because ultimately everyone is so obsessed with saving their own ass that it makes it very, very hard to work with anyone else in the regime.

I saw it in the theater with my wife, like a lot of people here, it’s an airplane/rental/stream on amazon prime sort of movie. Reminded me of a remake of Broadcast News with the cute ramped up and any bite taken away.

The style of the art on the Juicelets package in this picture really reminds me of the Wacky Packages that I had when I was a kid, most of them were done by Norman Saunders who was doing pulp cover art contemporary to when this debris was left there.

I’m in the same boat & receive better US news via the Manchester Guardian than anything stateside. Even on the local scale the news is incredibly controlled, in my home state a lot of the local papers have been bought by Gannett and they’re nothing but sports, click bait, sports, crime, clickbait, sports, crime,…

You really expect the US corporate right wing media elite to report objectively on this administration?

During the primaries the Guardian ran a profile of him and one of the things that they.....lingered on....was apparently he has a wall in his house, it wouldn’t be inappropriate to say it’s yuge, a yuge wall of him with people and all these letters talking about how awesome he is.

I don’t really think that Trump *has* any policies or plans.

For years I’ve been trying to help people disavow themselves of a notion of a liberal media elite. The majority of mass media in this country is none of that. Often there is money or power involved, follow who is being enriched by the story that is going on and one might start to glean what is really going on.

I for one am tired of libs just rolling over and taking it and talking about compromise and meeting people half-way, the very same people who don’t want anything but their way or the highway.

This interview on the Guardian is quite complimentary to the topic at hand.
