It was unimpressive for how much I had built this car up as a kid.
At least it wasn’t water in a fuel jug.
I just recently learned over the holidays, my friend’s Lexus dealership still has a “new” one. His wife tried to convince him to drive that instead of his flamboyant 935, but he is convinced they will get $1 Million for it.
I too was obsessed with the Gen 1 Viper as a kid. Then as an adult who could actually afford one, I rode in one on track. They say “never meet your heros” for a reason :(
Funny. Right after I joined the Navy (18yrs old), my dad bought a 99 Camaro SS with some SLP go fast bits to it. Damn sweet looking body, fast as hell, and terrible interior.
I am only recently understanding why my parents keep buying Mercedes. My favorite was my dad’s old 08' SL55 AMG, but; my mom’s new SL550 is pretty sweet too. Makes my 09' Highlander Hybrid Limited look like a 90s Tahoe in comparison.

Last year, my Wife’s parents bought a new car and gave us their 1981 Volvo 245 DL Wagon, that they bought with 6k miles in 1984. I have every service record for it too! I want to lightly restore it, but baby on the way and Shelby clutch issues have eliminated the money that would have been earmarked for it. Still…
I like to quote things and then add “wow” or some other expression. I’d have to quote the whole article to express my “wow” for this thing!
“One day I’ll learn.”
This is something I would expect in a Law School class to force the student to play Devil’s Advocate. NOT a 4th grade class of impressionable kids who could now think; “maybe slavery wasn’t all that bad.” This teacher needs to not teach anymore.
A different article I read on this mentioned that the investigations into the 7-11 stores actually began 4 years ago and that this is a result of those investigations.
