I guess we’re fucked no matter what. Can we start over with learning how to create fire?

Absolutely LOVE the simplicity of this! Naturally, I got on board with the 5MJ when I heard Tim Ferriss talk about it on his podcast, probably one of the best resources I’ve picked up from him (and that’s saying something).

OK, TMI, but, if I’m in a social situation and feeling overwhelmed, I go to the restroom, lock myself in a cubicle, and read for a few minutes. That way I’m not reading in front of the folks I’m interacting with, but I get my relaxation fix — my break.

When mine REALLY starts to act up (social anxiety) I do something for someone else. I give blood, I gather up stuff to donate, or I call a friend and ask if there is anything I can help them with. If I can’t do any of that I donate a little money to a good cause, or read positive news stories.

I used to suffer from chronic sinus infections due to year-round allergies. I started rinsing my sinuses every night before bed a couple of years ago and I have not had a sinus infection since. I am not saying that it cured my condition, but I am saying that, for me, it prevents things from getting out of control.

As an ICU nurse I get patients who come into the unit with horrendous respiratory infections. They have had discolored or odorous sputum for days and thought it would clear out or improve and it went in the other direction. Especially for the elderly, those extra days sitting at home with untreated pneumonia or upper

? It’s cooking- you can do anything you want, just report back on whether or not it was good.

The source is a royal mess, is the problem.

There is a middle ground. The key is to do it when you are in no danger of losing emotional control. Confront people when you aren’t emotionally upset and are prepared for a negative response.

I guess I’m looking for more helpful quotes from that source then.

I have no idea what this article is trying to say.

Are you asking for permission? I’d say go ahead, it’s probably alright.

Also applies well to dealing with children. Our middle one is going through a “my brother is mean to me so I have the right to do anything want (to anyone) or take anything I want” phase... getting mad or trying to persuade him how unreasonable that is definitely doesn’t help. Hard not to do though...

I’m confused by this too.

Reading the source material confused me even more.

You’ll be laughed out of the room and shamed into never showing your face again.

Please, don’t present this to an Spaniard.

I seem to have missed the lesson in school about how to stay organized and on top of your shit, so these journals are intriguing to me. I have tried many, many planners and to-do list schemes and I can’t seem to stick to one, but maybe this is the ticket. At the very least, it’s an excuse to stock up on cute pens.

Hardcoded root password? O_o

I love my Synology NAS, but I would be very cautious about trusting it from a security perspective. They have been rather slow to address some extremely serious bugs. Like a hardcoded root password for their OpenVPN implementation.
