Stuff a hunk of latex foam in between to seal the gap. Can be low enough to be out of sight but shallow enough to let you easily grab the detritus.

You should use the brakes to slow down and rev match best you can engaging the clutch. Brakes are built to slow you down and are cheaper than a clutch assembly which is built to transfer engine power to the drive train, not take it off.

Sometimes I troll the mobile-gazing head dippers behind me at a light, take my foot off the brake lights, make them look up for a second.

Exactly. I’m all about efficiency and people see that as aggressive. But don’t we all want to get through that green light?

I also now honk pretty much a half-beat after the green if I see the guy ahead of me on a mobile.  Slightest hesitation I’m on them, been burned too many times while they scamper through a yellow.

US driver, UK license test: almost got denied while waiting at a traffic light on a B road and had blocked entry in/out of a car park. Inspector said I’d have failed if another driver had come along and wanted to enter/exit.
