Moon Knight was proof that a middling show can have excellent actors who leave you nodding as the final credits roll.

Because I’m old.

I’m not surprised that this sounds like a messy film, given everything they are trying to cram into it. I thought No Way Home was 90% laughable and 10% well-played, but again...not surprised.

I was going to be surprised because not knowing where the script is going meant how could you have sets built...but when 90% of the film is green-screened, I guess that’s less of an issue.

I understood that reference.

(whew)

The only reason I recall much of anything from Avatar is thanks to Funhaus and Elyse Willems. I can’t imagine a project I care about less than Avatar sequels, but I’m sure it will be a huge box office draw no matter what the reviews say. Still, it’s hard to believe Cameron has poured 13 years into production of a

There is so much I love about this series...Diab’s direction, the music over the end credits slaps harder than the score of the rest of the episodes, and Isaac is seven kinds of remarkable in this one.

You know there are more than 30 actors in Hollywood, right?

I was aleady interested in the show, but I didn’t realize Simon was behind it. Now my interest has ratcheted up several degrees. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, he’s making that sweet Marvel voice work money. Fuck those other shows.

Highly unlikely.

From what little I could make of this, it felt like another shadow of GLORIA, though the tough-person-with-small-child thing has been done sooo many times now...the writing and acting would need to be pretty damn good.

FFS, this company...if they really plan to do it, they need to decide on a tone, a direction...a long-term plan. I can’t believe that someone really wants to start over with all this nonsense, but okay, just have a consistent fucking plan.

FFS, just watched that Cronenberg trailer. As a fan of the director: yiiikes.

Or maybe it’s just that I get jumpy and sometimes turn away from the ledge and into open air.

See, I’m just the opposite. Despite it being well made/acted, I *hated* Hereditary, was expecting to feel the same about Midsommar, and was blown away by it.

One of those series that people seem to lose their ever-lovin’ shit over that I just couldn’t be bothered with after the first season, and even that I barely recall.

Respect. I think Mandy is an expert piece of craft with exquisite performances. I was unable to fully appreciate Black Rainbow, in part because of the strobe sequences (epileptic filmgoer here). But I am excited to see what he does next.

For me, Eggers is hands-down the best and most intriguing “new” director out there.
