USA about to lock up the gold on the final rotation. Congrats Team USA!!

By far the worst Olympic viewing experience for me was in 2008. I was watching the primetime block (8pm-12 midnight) on the Left Coast one evening. NBC showed endless taped gymnastics prelims as they continually promoted the upcoming 4x100 freestyle swimming relay. They went to the pool at about 10pm, and there was a

And using the freestyle leg of his 400 IM is a bad argument, after the third leg he was ahead of world record pace and clearly faded badly the last 50 meters. Ye's time was 23 seconds slower than Lochte's - maybe the freestyle is her best stroke and his worst.

You're so cutting edge.

What about Spike Lee retweeting an (incorrect) street address for George Zimmerman? He got an elderly couple harrassed for days on end. That seems far worse than publishing an exec's corporate email address and encouraging people to criticize the exec's company.

That's a great point - so it's just as if the prelims were the Olympic trials and each country only had two spots. I was thinking of it more like they were heats in track and swimming.

Does it though? I mean, qualifying for the Olympics themselves - yes, there's artificial limits placed on the best countries (typically three athletes per event). But once you get there, to say that someone can't advance to the finals despite having one of the best scores/times in the preliminaries because their

I see what you did there, and think your total should be increased by one.

You guys should have known "Loate" was Kluwe because he responded with that name to probably the best Deadspin comment ever:

An eye for an eye...a snatch for a snatch.

The best part about this whole thing is that ESPN's comment boards are full of people taking shots at "Chris Broussard's sources", especially on the endless Dwight Howard rumor stories. He's a joke on their own site.

An unobtrusive but visible light around the puck would probably be helpful for TV. It was the comet trail on slapshots that was widely ridiculed.

That's strange, I thought the "not funny" version of Grown Ups was called...Grown Ups

Subtle yet brilliant. +1

Ha!

"You should talk, Dwight."
