i have personally experienced blizzards in barrow in march, april, may, july, august, and september. i have also seen the all time record high of 88.

yeah barrow is much more expensive, and you can’t actually own land in barrow because its all owned by the native corporation. they will lease you a lot and you can build there.

Good land in fairbanks is hard to find, even with money. The shipping isn’t too bad for most things though. Although only a very limited part of town has sewage. We live about 6 miles from fairbanks and we use an outhouse.

what are they gonna do about places where its below freezing for long periods of time? (I havent seen above freezing temps since ~october) what about driving WHILE its snowing? What about dirt roads? Muddy when its wet, dusty when its dry. If they want to say autonomous cars are only for urban areas during periods of

this is similar technology, yes, but at much lower orbits with higher number of satellites, latency will be much lower. I don’t know if you’ve used hughesnet gen5 or similar, but satellite internet is quickly getting much, much better

I lived in a cabin without running water for 5 years. I used, for me, my wife, and two dogs, about 3 or 4 gallons per day. We took showers at work (its a common way to live in my town so most employers have showers), and had an outhouse. Now, we have running water but its from a cistern that we have to fill from a

hardees biscuits, however, are legit

this is a big story in alaska right now, and should be for anyone following climate change. theres storm surges in towns all along the bering coast. little diomede is getting pounded by waves when they are usually locked into pack ice.

thats what the NRA used to care about, too.

thats good telegraph humor
