I loved I LOVE DICK!
I love that it gave me so much to THINK about!
I loved I LOVE DICK!
I love that it gave me so much to THINK about!
I've been chuckling over Aidy Bryant's SHS voice all day.
I've watched the first five episodes of I LOVE DICK.
I don't know that I would say that it's "funny", but it sure is compelling!
I can't imagine what these characters will do next!
I wouldn't call Sam "the worst";
I'd call her eye-rollingly HUMAN.
I thought it was weird that she figured it out from all the euphemisms!
We know more, because we saw Emily… but I don't quite get how Offred was able to put it together from that.
Or vote for trump.
He has a gun AND a turntable!
I took it a few ways:
1. She's still serving a male, only now it's a dog.
2. The Wife thinks she's being kind, letting Ofsteven "play" with the dog instead of attending to duties.
3. Ofsteven knows this is meant as a kindness, but she sees her whole life stretching out before her as just one long empty game of fetch……
I thought that was what Serena Joy was instructing her to do with that "You're a smart girl…" talk.
The first thing I want to say is that I hope you are watching this with really good speakers, because you can really tell that care and time went into the sound design!
Happy to hear from old friends!
I heard her interviewed on Leonard Lopate this morning and she was FULL OF BALONEY!
She said, "Julian is an equal opportunity leaker!
If he had ANYTHING on republicans, he would've leaked it by now!"
You know you are going to hear people stand up and cheer all the world over when Joelle gets her episode, right?
"Who are you to tell me no?"
Which ENCOURAGES/REWARDS a dehumanizing othering.
"White people just think of themselves as 'default people', like the camera in a video game."
I'm listening to World Spirituality Classics 1: The Ecstatic Music of Alice Coltrane.
It was released last week on David Byrne's LUKA BOP label.
I LOVE IT!
It sounds like rainbows crossed with the falling debris at the end of ZABRISKIE POINT.
I'd always been fascinated by Alice Coltrane, but felt she was over my head.
I…
That's how I've been reading it as well.
Gilead doesn't allow fellatio.
Or jokes.
I loved this episode.
It;'s difficult to say anything without spoiling future episodes!
