No, we could not say that, because we don't know her cicumstances.
I think its so interesting that Sankey resisted the guards' manipulations.
Thank you for sharing.
I think her parents are lying to themselves, too.
We've seen that of her mother in previous flashbacks.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!
I wonder if maybe a reason the sister hasn't visited with the parents is she's in prison as well.
I think about how that ties with the theme of "LYING TO OURSELVES"…
Her sister must've lied to herself that Suzanne could handle being on her own "just for a weekend".
… And you can imagine how, already in a panic, this stranger comes SWOOPING at you in a DRACULA CAPE, the fear escalated!!!!!!
"He was born in New York so nothing really interests him."

This Judy King - and Judy King herself - continues to surprise me!
Every time I think the story is going one way, the writers go in a completely different direction… and I am THRILLED with the unpredictability! Her story could have been soon lazy, and I'm so impressed with the writers not taking the easy way out!
Myles, I say this in earnest and with all respect, but do you think you may have been focusing on technical aspects of Suzanne's story as a way of protecting yourself from feeling the heartache of the situation?
The death of a child is HEAVY, and placing the responsibility on one of the show's most beloved characters…
I mean, EVERYONE in that story must be living in a state of grief and "WHAT IF?" every moment for the rest of their lives; Danny's brothers, who were supposed to be watching him; Suzanne's sister, who was supposed to be watching her…
I can't sleep because I keep thinking, "How can I go bak in time and prevent that Suzanne/Danny situation from happening?!?!?!"
and my mind goes in loops for a while before I remember:
"It's a scripted television show; I can't 'save' these people"
I just finished this episode and I can't handle reading about it yet; I just had to come here and say I am throwing up crying from the perspective of so many people…. and that's just in Suzanne's story… The kind of sadness you don;;t come back from.
She had to choose between running over an old lady or crashing into a wall.
We don't know (I'm pretty sure)
I listened to Sandra Bernhard's version!
I am still not over that baby mouse.
That image is going to stick with me for a long time.
Also, they are open-ended; we don't know if the events we see depicted are what led to their imprisonment.
