My Step-Mother was a manager there when I was in 5th grade.
My little sister and I would be left there aaaaaaalllllllll daaaaaaay to entertain ourselves, just running wild and unsupervised.
I especially remember the sulfuric smell of the water and the dankness of Black Bart's Cave.
I have a lot of negative feelings about

But they way The Underwoods think of the term "legacy", I think of as a dog marking its territory.

So many of the B-characters just DISAPPEARED…
Maybe its low-brow of me, but I know I need at least ONE "rootable" character to stay invested.

Maybe the show is trying to give them more human dimensions, but I feel like I'm watching a long con… or maybe people who've conned themselves.

I feel like the show can;t decide if The Underwoods believe their own bullshit.
Because I don't FOR A MOMENT believe they GENUINELY care about "jobs", "peace" or any kind of political prisoner.
I just don't buy that they CARE about anything but POWER for POWER'S SAKE, not how it can be used to help people.

I really feel the ABSENCE of secondary characters.

I just want Doug and Cashew to ride off into the sunset together.

One time I had a crazy cokehead boss, and he was obsessed with Annie Lennox's MEDUSA. Anytime we heard that opening bit of NO MORE I LOVE YOUS - "Doo doo doo doot doot doot; AAAAA!" - we knew he was locked up in his office, doing lines.
And that became our shorthand for every time something went wrong at work because

I WOULD like to see Annie Potts back!!!!

Count me as someone who GENUINELY laughs out loud with this show.
But then, I'm enjoying it on its own merits, not comparing it to a groundbreaking show.
I don't think MARON is attempting to "break ground", just approach Life in a more thoughtful way.

That was the last time I remember THE SIMPSONS™ genuinely MOVING me.

"PROFILES IN COURAGE"

The one that broke me came a long time ago: When The Simpsons visited NYC.

She was SOLD into marriage by her father, with her sister thrown in as a bonus.

I just finished this book, and really enjoyed it!
We all know Atwood gives The Reader lots to think about, but these stories are also often CRACKING-UP FUNNY!

Yes, its all worked out really well for SONY™, hasn't it?

Remember, he had a plan to stop 911.

I only know her from TREME!

I hope its wrong about journalism too!

Yes, and Murphy displays a 5th grader's understanding of the issues.
