As someone that designs logos every day, I can tell you gradients and fancy fonts aren’t used as much because they tend to make things hard to read and are usually way overdone. Companies want want logos that are easy to read and notice from a distance. 

Just make sure it’s American Cheese and not some of that God-forbidden French Communist cheese.
