Saw the NYC Dawn of Justice premiere.
(For the record, I have much more sympathy for MJ than Luke or Cosby)
Sony must just be relieved to step away from the Dr. Luke dilemma and have their name next to a nice, non-controversial artist like Michael Jackson.
It certainly succeeds on that front, I just feel like that is less rare than a high school movie that reflects many different people's experiences in a way that feels genuine and not "Breakfast Club"-y. The ensemble structure is what I was most fond of, so I'm simply less interested in what seems like a similar film…
The brilliance of Dazed and Confused really relied on the ensemble nature and the varied experiences and perspectives depicted. Maybe the trailer decided to just choose one angle to emphasize, but the lack of female perspective in the trailer is a red flag for me.
They reviewed the finale and I'm pretty sure there was a Newswire about its renewal. I wouldn't be surprised if season 2 gets regular coverage - the ratings were pretty solid.
Right, definitely renewing it for next season. I'm just speculating about how many seasons it will go on for, which is much harder to predict.
Oh, I definitely think it's a shoo-in to be renewed for a fourth season. I was more speculating that, since it's likely to be renewed for a fourth season it's also likely to be renewed for at least a partial fifth season to reach syndication numbers. If we're going to see 2+ years pass on the show, we'll see Roscoe…
Yeah, wasn't meaning to insult Marvel, just found it weird for them to do something that is both pretty minimal and has rewards that seem somewhat contradictory to the mission statement. But if that's what they have to offer, by all means they should offer it.
Oh, I was separating Marvel Studios from Marvel Comics. The Comics half has been doing really great work on that front, definitely. Been a lot of complaints about the handling of MCU and its merchandise, though.
Social awareness publicity? I'm not seeing anything on the application protecting applicants' ideas from being stolen by Disney. For all we know, this is just crowdsourcing.
This kinda seems weird? Like, Marvel/Disney definitely is capable of offering more than $500 for this thing. And I don't really see how an internship at Marvel is going to launch their science careers - if anything isn't this taking young women interested in STEM careers and trying to lure them to the entertainment…
Think the idea is they can take on a New York City-wide threat without sowing mass destruction like the climax of the first Avengers movie. Maybe that's the difference between Avengin' and Defendin'.
Shameless Carmichael Show plug time? Also, Superstore is fairly decent?
Definitely glad the Christy-Baxter romance won't be explored, but I think opening up to more Christy-Baxter co-parenting Roscoe and what a separated but functional family might look like is a good idea. I feel like they'll probably renew Mom at least up to syndication numbers at this point (although I might be too…
I think there's an NBC (or canceled after one season ABC) single-cam sitcom just within Carmichael and Stevens, while the rest of his family is pure multi-cam. I kinda think that's an intentional decision to portray a generation gap, or at least a gap between what Carmichael is like within is family and who he might…
That's not what I was saying "intensely emotional" to, You simplified the reasons why victims don't report rape as "shame", I said it is much more complicated than that. I am saying that the various difficulties and trials one goes through while raising a rape claim is something she has to lose, in response to your…
Honestly, if you can reduce the intensely emotional reasons why victims don't want to go through this kind of thing to "shame" and think Kesha's image means she has no dignity, I'm not going to be able to explain it to you.
I don't really have too much to say, this episode was good and standard and hits its marks without being exceptional television. That's for the best, because nothing would sink this show like hitting for the fences every single week. It's an enjoyable watch with laughs and some nice moments. It's much more important…
So, uh, his last comment was deleted before I could post it, but I'm going to respond to it anyway because, well, I already wrote it and I think it's a decent end to the conversation:
