Very informative post. Educational and interesting! ;)

Replying to promote.

I also want this on my Xperia Arc, like NOW! Cmon Sony and Sony Ericsson. ;)

If you want a phone that's good, very sexy looking and has unlocked boot loader I would go for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.

Awesome and informative post! This is why it's actually worthwile to read the comments on Gizmodo, contrary to most other tech/gadget-blogs. :)

Hey sridhar.

It's a lengthy reply so I'll try to address each of your points in the order written, but forgive me if I miss something.

Well I usually make a point of showing the problem to them (people with iphone4) and discussing physical properties of metal, conductivity and so forth. Being an engineer I like to get nerdy. ;)

Ok, so then you would propose that only people that confesses (in some fashion) can have the death penalty. This is basically saying "I want to be even more certain when it comes to using the death penalty" and it also falls under the same previous problem of not being able to be 100% certain. There are those with

Well I think that with Arc, Play, Neo and Pro they started the year extremely strong. Not all of them out yet though. So this a very decent follow up, but I seem to remember that SE promised at least 8 Android phones this year. So counting previous four, these two and the Japanese only Acro... I wonder what will be

I have a few friends who have the X10 Mini pro and they love them. The hardware on those old ones isn't superfast though, so if you load it up with too many background services and whatnot it could get slow. It'll be interesting to see what the new processors and android 2.3 can do, on that small screen it should be

No, this is proof how what a loyal fan base Apple has. Such that it's actually worth it for them to release a year old product that was, to cite a famous internet video, "already behind the curve" when released.

Well the reason against death penalty is the following:

Absolutely brilliant! ;)

I know it's a US centric site, but cmon... For us across the pond it's the HTC, Samsung and SE phones that are selling hot. I have yet to see anyone that has a Motorola phone...

I think it's a fantastic move by Sony Ericsson to allow unlocking of their new phones.

Well, I guess I can only say Xperia Play. Android is ready to Play! ;)

Well the 8MP Sony sensors in the new SE phones are nothing short of astounding. Great quality and low light performance. Compared camera on my Arc with a friend of mine stuck with an iphone 4... his phone could barely get an image (it was all black) whereas the Arc took a very decent shot, all in poor lighting.

Well not really. If the antenna isn't exposed to human touch, like on the iPhone 4, then it doesn't suffer the same engineering flaw. Yes, you can form your hands to block the signal (attenuation) on all phones... that's not the same thing.

Those ads are fantastic. I adored her in FotC.
