Yeah this, and I think a lot of it is they were expecting everyone to be Mike Huckabee about the situation. Like they expected everyone to forgive him and let it go and treat it like a youthful indiscretion. They really seem to think that he's the victim in all this, and not his 5 sisters.

1.) They genuinely feel they did nothing wrong in how they handled the situation. So if it did get out, so what?

They are so insular and have so much local control, they believe they can control the world like they control their women. It appears TLC catered to their insularity.

Two five year olds looking at each other’s wee wees are “Playing Doctor”. A 15 year old adolescent molesting a five year old is not. Never mind that there were multiple victims, multiple occasions over several years, and often the victims were originally asleep, so they weren’t ‘playing’ anything.

Every single thing about this family gives me the creeps. Like in an Omen kind of way. It’s like they are the polar opposite of the morals and values that they purport to stand for. There’s such a disconnect between what they think being a “good person” is and what actually just being decent means.

White privilege is having agents of the state and a presidential candidate protect you despite being an incestuous child rapist. Imagine if this dude wasn’t a white guy. It’s truly baffling so many people are unwilling/unable to have a modicum of empathy for people like Tamir Rice but are more than willing to defend

I think you forgot your sarcasm tag. PLEASE tell me you forgot your sarcasm tag.

When speaking about Michael Brown, a teenager, Huckabee called him ‘a thug’ and said he could have avoided his fate if Brown would have behaved himself. So apparently it’s ok to shoot black teenagers, but white teenage abusers deserve our respect and some privacy. Are people even listening to themselves anymore?

I love how the girls - the real victims - have become completely invisible in all this. And when I say love, I mean “I would like to set someone’s face on fire”.

the speed with which they responded makes me think they’ve had these statements prepared for a while now...

Mrs. Vices and I used to watch A&E on Mondays when they had Hoarders and Intervention back to back. We called it “Feel Better About Yourself Monday”.

Don’t forget Michelle Duggar’s robocall against a proposed anti-discrimination ordinance.

I have to say, I agree with Mama June, to a point. If TLC gives the pretty, nice-haired, God-fearin’, Jesus-forgave-me family a pass on some truly heinous, tragic abuse.... after they canceled the crass, weird-looking, big ol’ hick clan for the same kind of shit? That is a gross double standard.

It makes me so sad to think they were forced to smile for the cameras and be alone with their brother who hurt them/talk about how wholesome their family is the whole time. It also makes me feel really sick to think of those girls giving interviews about how they aren't kissing until marriage when a family member

Everything this family does. I mean this quite literally. Everything this family does is abusive. Because everything is based upon a religious pretext which provides cover for oppression and violence against women and children. Look at the parenting materials which come out of this movement. The Pearls. Gothard and

These people are a disgrace to humanity and Christianity. I am offended by their mere existance let alone their philosophy. They are hateful bigots who have chosen to expound their fucked up philosophy of submission and apparently degradation of women through the medium of crappy television . They follow the tenants

Fuck you TLC. I think in airing this ridiculous show yesterday, you showed your support for an incestuous molester.

At this point, I should be used to seeing backlash against Emma Sulkowicz, but I still wasn’t fully prepared for
