I put a lot of wasabi in my soy sauce because that’s how I like it. And you know what, most Japanese I know (going up to 60yo and from various regions ftm) do that. Well depending on the fish, I don’t even use soy sauce.

As a mature reader too, I would find it utterly stupid to use “normal” looking girls when you can make them sexier. It’s still a manga, it’s dream machine, you don’t read it to see something you see everyday in the streets.
And I’m sure that there are as many fat&noverycute women in One Piece as there are sexy ones.

And you don’t even hear about more than 10% of adaptations. Most TV shows and movies are adapted from manga/anime content. It’s not anymore about making a good adaptation, it’s about using a nice story and showing popular actors.
