It annoys me when people say “skin color” when what they really mean is “race.” This Chinese woman sitting next to me at work is three shades lighter than the white woman sitting behind me. It’s not her skin color that has people constantly asking her where she’s “really” from. (Queens. She’s from fucking Queens.)

Yes, I hear repeatedly that “PC” makes us pussies, and Trump is a Real Man.

I kind of like how they're all coming out in the open. A person going to a Trump rally is the equivalent to a person with a Confederate flag bumper sticker on their vehicle, a subspecies to avoid at all costs.

Yet his supporters don’t see themselves as “racist.” They talk about how “PC culture” means that they can’t say anything without being called “racist.” They just see Trump as a straight shooter.

The ONE good thing about his running is that your average "Racism doesn't exist in post civil rights America" people are now being forced to confront the fact that *SURPRISE* it is alive and thriving.

It’s even more limiting when there is only one group putting themselves out there thus bearing the brunt of the social and political backlash. I don’t recall typing that each person should only fight for the group to which he/she belongs. I absolutely agree that we (all minorities) would benefit if we rallied around…

But Chris Rock is black, which is why he spoke of the black experience in Hollywood. Why are blacks expected to do the heavy lifting while other minority groups benefit from our activism then remain silent when it really counts?

Every white person in that crowd had the same thoughts running through their head “Is it OK to laugh at this joke? Oh God, what if the camera cuts to me when I’m laughing at a joke I’m not supposed to laugh at?!”
