That happens with every major release these days. Coloring Book and TLOP were overhyped as all hell so the weaknesses were overlooked. I remember Yeezus was voted both the most overrated AND the most underrated album of 2013 in a reader's poll. Everything has to either be the best thing of all time or trash.

I mean personally I would have Maisie ahead of them but I mean Emma Watson is arguably the biggest female star in Hollywood right now and Emma Thompson is a legend so I'm not surprised.

I think it's a great album but calling it "revolutionary" or "one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time" is too much.

The production on this thing is what immediately stands out to me. I can't believe Mike Will made "D.N.A." and "XXX" which might be my two favorite tracks on early listen. That's not a knock on him it just…doesn't seem like his type of radio ready sound. I also like "HUMBLE" quite a bit which he produced as well.

I haven't like dove into the whole narrative of their discography or whatever as that seems a little daunting but I do like a lot of their songs quite a bit. Haha yeah it's strange that I discovered a band because I wanted to hear Gabrus, Lippert and Stephanie Allynne spew nonsense.
