I assume this was a Second Mile kid, which likely means this kid had no family support system. Also going to the police is not exactly a welcoming thought to a victim of abuse, he likely didn’t think anyone would believe him except for a head coach who already knew.

And it’s not just those kids who were molested in those 36 years. It’s also the kids those kids were more likely to molest after they grew up. While we do know that those molested as kids are more likely to molest as adults, we’ll never know exactly how many and it spreads exponentially across generations.
