This is going to be the debate going forward for EV’s.  As iconic car sounds like BMW M-cars and Dodge Hemi’s transition to electric how should they sound?  BMW tapped Hans Zimmer to come up with a wholly unique electric sound and Dodge went with kind of a electronic version of a Hemi.  I’d like to see more composers…

Imposing that sound on everyone around them is the number 1 feature that buyers of Challengers and Camaros, and to a lesser extent Mustangs, are after. It’s more important than speed, power or anything else.

It’s a cool gimmick, but a gimmick nonetheless. I wish they’d just embrace their new EV identity. If Dodge wants V8 sounds, then they should keep making V8 coupes and sedans.

I said it in the other article - route that sound to a set of speakers in the driver’s headrest so they can enjoy it without it being a nuisance to everyone else around you.
