It wasn't exactly that the sperm wasn't his. It was that they were able to determine that there were multiple contributors, and could not single out his. So, at the very least, the rape could not have been committed by him alone, which was enough to get the conviction vacated.

Right, we do not know who else was involved. It was also said in season one, by Trey, that it was known that Hannah had had sex with adults. The senator's disproportionate drive to maintain Daniel's guilt has always made me figure that he's one of those adults. (Trey, during that awful night w/Daniel, also says that

The comment quoted here makes no sense and not just because I've heard McKinnon slip and refer to Daniel as "wrongfully convicted," but because of what you say right here and all that leads up to that moment — the day with Trey, etc.

Ha anyone else seen (video interview) Ray McKinnon, perhaps accidentally, refer to Daniel as wrongfully convicted? I have. This quote absolutely contradicts that. I don't get it.
