100% agree. This movie looks like detestable garbage and I have no interest in it, but “who asked for this?” is a shallow and unilluminating question, usually because anyone asking it has no way to answer it. If we really knew the motivations (financial, cultural, otherwise) of the producers, we wouldn’t have to

THANK YOU!

“Who asked for this?” is never a valid critique. Art doesn’t need to be necessary or important, and there’s no shortage of good stuff that was initially regarded with scepticism or indifference (including genre-leaping spinoffs).

It’s one of those things that are so farfetched that it’s either really true or very close to it.

And you call them steamed pants, despite the fact that they are obviously grilled...

She took aim at Roth first, calling him out for allegedly having young women on the crew steam his pants around his crotch while he was still wearing them.

What really angers people is not the lack of political commentary but rather the cynical way in which these games appropriate clearly political imagery and then say “This is not political” as a means of getting as many people paying for it as possible. I mean, let’s look at the most recent examples:

I’m not seeing that argument in the article. What I am seeing is an argument that this series’ general tone-deafness is, as usual, on full display.

Because they don’t reflexively gush over every AAA game like most outlets?

No, she demonstrably doesn’t deserve better, because she agreed to do it.

Shhhhh.  Let people enjoy things.

The strange part is that it was the last Star Wars movie. Like, they said it was supposed to be a trilogy, but the third movie never materialized. Still, I’m pretty satisfied with the ending of TLJ.

This movie is fucking awesome and an excellent addition to the Star Wars saga.

I’m sorry but anyone can tell a story that’s inspired by a true story. No one owns it. She doesn’t have to like it but the filmmakers didn’t have to consult with her either. Plus, she already wrote her book and made her money so anyone who wants to know what the real Amanda thinks, can just buy her book.

Her resume would suggest she’s primed for a career as a creepypasta Youtube and/or TikTok influencer.

Writer Andrew Wheeler acknowledges that the JLQ name is pretty cringe in his script

Apparently Brody actually did offer to make an appearance, but Shane Black somehow couldn’t think of anything to do with him.

You get a star just for “Yautja.” I thought it was a perfectly fine entry into the franchise. Much better than AVP 1 or 2, and not as coked out as Predator 2.
As to your point about hunting styles, yeah, it’s not their style but you could hand-wave most of that away with “Civil War” “contested space travel” “hidden

He could have used those dreadlocks he wore on SNL!
