ive been playing, and yes, it does spoil a few things from 4. it isn't so dependent on 4's lore that you cant understand the story, but if you are still planning on playing 4, then a few key plot points will be ruined. Not the biggest plot points, but for any Metal Gear fan, they'd be important plot points, yes.
