Look, I do not know what to say other than that if you aren’t currently working for Marvel Entertainment, they need better recruiters. This is a brilliant, brilliant idea. And she’s starring in Legion in 2017, which is co-produced by Marvel Television. There is no conflict with cinematic universes. Come on Marvel,

Aubrey Plaza in Guardians of the Galaxy? Well thanks LuckyMc44, I will now never be satisfied with this film until that becomes a reality.

“Well I was the best damn agent Nova Corps ever had until I was framed for a crime I didn’t commit: stealing the Collector’s stones...no wait, I did do that. Anyway, thought I was dead? So did Nova Prime’s enemies...except, well, uh, Thanos.”

-Burt Macklin, Guardian of the Galaxy

Thank you for being understanding, I appreciate it. May I ask how you would have approached this advertisement?

And while it’s not the same as being inclusive and actively showing disabled people, do you think that because disabled people can also be inspired by seeing physically-abled athletes, it in any way

I just want say sorry for being foolish. I misread the point of your thesis. It’s 6 a.m and I got hung up on disability, Paralympics and Olympics. But I just apparently mansplained on a video about gender equality, so yeah, well done Nomadic. Sincerest apologies and I’ll avoid commenting from now on until I can do

Sorry, my internet’s been buggy so I’m not sure if my initial post went through, but respectfully:

I understand it’s aggravating how much of a second thought the Paralympics is in regards to broadcasting as a consequence and perpetuation of the general marginalisation of disabilities, but the lack of Paralympic hurdles

The video is well-intentioned, but the metaphor of jumping hurdles, not to mention the doubling down on athletic prowess, seems especially ableist in this context.

Ahh god, final years are nerve-wracking! Best of luck.

Hey Lauren, just wanted to say thanks for this interesting weekend coverage, and that I hope the MFA is going/has gone well.

I was rewatching The Legend of Korra the other day and realised how much I missed your presence at io9 when going back through your recaps. May your endeavours continue to be successful and best

Sorry for the unsolicited suggestions, but if you felt like shaking things up, my friend’s a massive Ikuhara fan, was fairly impressed with Yurikuma Arashi,

I’ve been told that the animation quality dipped significantly throughout the Orange anime unfortunately, so you might want to consider sticking to the manga.

Ah, thank you for reminding me! That looks like it’s heading into Madoka/Wixoss territory, so definitely one to look out for.

I am really far behind on LL and all series airing this season, but on the other hand, I finished Hunter x Hunter, which was an emotional rollercoaster. I am sad that Togashi will probably never finish the series, so it will never be a full adaptation, but Madhouse did some stellar work.

What are you looking forward

Dear Jezzies,

A close friend of mine is confronting a difference in levels of sexual desire and exploration in her relationship (she being the one who wants to be more active), and I thought it might be helpful to pass on some intelligent internet writing/essays about sex-positivity written by women for a more

I saw that date on Amazon, but turns out it’s wrong. Woefully wrong. I was just informed by another commentator that it’s been delayed again, then found this post on the Gollancz blog from last week. Lynch has been moving and is getting married, so it’s naturally taken up a lot of his time. Sorry for the raised

UPDATE FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT KNOW EITHER (and thanks for the heads up JDW and VictorH): The September release date has been cancelled. Just did a bit of searching and finally found it on the Gollancz blog (linked below). Sorry for getting everyone excited. Lynch has been moving and is getting married. Thus we must

Honestly, I think Lynch’s descriptions of his world are superior compared to Martin’s in terms of actual writing, though they don’t generally have the same level of thematic significance. That said, his predilection for using “alchemical lamps” is up there with Martin’s “lemon cakes”.

I really feel io9 shouldn’t be giving them publicity. The more quickly non-Frank Dune novels descend into obscurity, the better.

It’s one of the few dates marked on my mental calendar.

They’re very fun reads that also get quite emotional at times. Lynch is pretty adept at balancing world-building (with interesting descriptions, which is something that’s far too rare in fantasy, frankly) with good plotting and character development. The witty banter often produces genuine laughter, and at the very
