Take out the Canto Blight section and the movie would be immensely better. That is the only scene in any movie I have ever fallen asleep to at the movie theater.

My dad shockingly voted third party, or as he put it “threw my vote away”. My dad is an 80 year old racist conservative, but he even he knew Trump was nuts and was concerned he would destroy the Republican party (we can only hope). He does think Trump is better than Hillary would have been because...reasons.

I don’t think I’d directly conflate patriotism with racism. What I’d say is that when the right says “patriotism,” what they really mean is “nationalism,” which then leads into racism via the whole “saving OUR country from the immy-grants,” “they took our jerbs” line of thinking.
