The only movie I’ve ever walked out on (and with a BFA in film and working as A&E editor in college many years back, I’ve seen some absolute turds) was Halle Berry’s Catwoman. I used a free ticket to the local Dollar Cinema (still around, but they now charge $2), and left about 3/4 of the way through feeling like

My Dad sold Cutco back in the late 50's, early 60's. He always joked that it’s a “fall back” if I got tired of working at the coffee shop. He also said the army was a good way to pay for college. I don’t think he was serious about either recommendation.

Durant seems to have picked up a few things from Green. I’m not complaining. It’s seemed that over the last few years the refs might have become a bit overly sensitive to foul structure and the flow of the game has suffered because of it. We don’t need to go back to the hand-check days of the Jordan Bulls, but this

I know this article’s a few years old now, but I just noticed (about a month ago) that my local Pizza Hut has stopped offering Large pizza. Medium is the biggest size...

I feel like this discussion would have been better read in comic panel form with Little Caesar eating Domino’s in a Pizza Hut with his Godfather.

Every time there was an opportunity for awe, they pop cultured it right into oblivion. Rey slashing the rock with the lightsaber was a great insight into the power of the weapon and Luke’s discovery of Rey’s ability with the weapon. Having the rock do prop comedy on the alien nun’s loaded cart pulled me away. Luke’s

It took me a long time to get into MH, but when I finally did, it was worth it. I originally entered on Tri with the Wii. Mostly because I wanted the extra controller and the game was massively discounted by the time I grabbed it. Futzed around a little, didn’t get far (no online play probably didn’t help), moved on

Well fuck, if they want to do that, then they can take their “tip compliance” and shove it up their ass. I’m already taxed about 50% above what I actually make hourly. Tip pooling is the only reason I’m not losing actual hourly wages on a slow night (and there have been more and more of those over the last year).

I kind of feel that Pizza Hut was done a disservice by ordering the Personal Pan version while everyone else got full-on medium pies. I feel like it would have scored higher if they went with a regular sized hand-tossed version. Way less greasy, more palatable crust and bread in general.

Last night’s game was a constant reminder of why I prefer to watch Rugby. It’s also an exception to the example of the otherwise fallacy argument that more protection leads to more dangerous situations. See: brutal hits, no spearing.

I’ve rolled my ankle in a similar fashion while running back in the day. 2 weeks minimum.

I just wish Pharoahe Monch would return to the mic. I keep finding myself back at his solo albums thinking exactly how far ahead he was.

I don’t live in the best part of my city. But I can practically guarantee you that 80% of the ones here peddling drugs, using them, begging for change and causing havoc are Caucasian of varying degrees. Yes, I’ve seen criminal activity by Blacks and Latinos right over my back wall, but most of the time, they’re White.

I picked up both StarTropics and it’s sequel for around $10 each, new, in box at a K&B Toys outlet in my local mall back when the Atari Jaguar was being released and they just wanted to get rid of back of warehouse stuff. It ranks up there with the $25 Virtual Boy and $50 Dreamcast as my top cost-worthy purchases of

It’s been mentioned umpteen times already, but it was passed on to me by many an RN. Pedialyte. I’ve also found that a bowl of spicy ramen, sparkling water w/ some pomegranate juice helps some. If you’re going the more alcohol route (don’t, but you will). Stick with a michelada. That clam juice/tomato/lime/beer combo

12 years young. Rudy the Rhodesian Ridgeback!

Shorter one now. Was driving down to Las Vegas from Reno after a PCH trip up to SF and Oregon (same ex, this was our last trip before it ended). Similar 2 lane desert roads, in March. Lots of inclement weather for some reason (it happened on almost all of our trips, maybe the planet was trying to say something).

A couple years ago, my ex-gf and I decided to do an overnight trip to the Amargosa Opera House out at Death Valley Junction to see a performance and stay in the supposedly “haunted” hotel that’s adjacent. I want to say, November? But might have been late Spring (shows at the place are closed from May-Oct anyway due to

I’m often confused with being an anime fan because of my collection of films. I’m a fan of solid stories, whether in TV or film, and the medium (live action or animation) is irrelevant to me. That being said, I would’ve skipped Bubblegum Crisis (can anything be more trope heavy based on design?). Instead, I would’ve

I always boil my denim before I wear it. Just have to watch out for those rivets, or they’ll burn you.
