But Star Wars is always about subverting expectations!

Of course she's going to kick his ass. She already did it once with no training and then again after a day of training. Given this film time skips a year later? He'd be lucky to get a single scratch on her. She has to be, like, 1,000x stronger than Vader by now.

I recall reading that writers for the old “The Lone Ranger” TV series use to pick their plots for the coming week by throwing darts at a board with plot points pasted to it. The Lone Ranger... (throws a dart) saves a young woman... (throws a dart) from a bandit gang... (throws a dart)... at the circus. I get the

Nah, that's when they actually start making out, once they're both shitty Dark Side assholes.

The “high ground” certainly didn’t help Darth Maul . . . .

 . . . God, those movies sucked.

Does all this mean we can pretend that shitty, nonsensical, last movie with the Little Orphan Padawans and the prank calls didn’t happen?

Well the problem is (and this is my nit with JJ Abrams) is that Kylo is incredibly powerful when it looks cool (sensing and freezing a blaster-bold mid-air) and kinda sucky when the plot demands it. Almost like somebody didn’t think things through from a character perspective and instead did the 12 year old, “wouldn’t

Hasn’t she ALWAYS been a formidable foe for Kylo?

Man, the 80's was the peak era of stealing cable. We didn’t pay for cable for years, but always had it on. Your parents failed you.

Most of the people in U.S. couldn’t afford a monthly cable bill for most of MTV’s lifetime?? This will come as a surprise to hundreds of millions of people who were watching cable during that time. What are you talking even about??

To claim that MTV wasn’t a cultural cornerstone for Children of the 80's is ignorance. Yeah not everyone had it (my cable company didnt have the station for several years after launch), but yeah - you’re still wrong here.

FWIW MTV begins in 1981; by 1985 50% of American households subscribed to cable; at its peak just under 70% of households, today it’s about 58%. Keep in mind also that you don’t need to subscribe to cable to watch it and I’d say that the author’s statement holds.

is that why you clicked on the image and scrolled through the gallery to get to the comments to post that you were offended?

You act as if Japan is the only country with a schoolgirl fetish.

?? She’s 25.

It kind of looks like the Nerds mascot.

How MTV sucked the life out of the VMAs? I think it happened right about the same time they stopped playing music videos.

Apparently this first pitch is a somewhat big deal in baseball?

Bruce the Grump is never someone to get tired of. This is a guy who has long since thought that his iconic character should have gotten the bad ending for Army of Darkness all along, because since he was definitely a nitwit, it was what he deserved.

...but there is a long tradition in theater of actors standing on stages with nothing but a blackbackground and no props acting their asses off...
