What usually pushes me over the edge is some poorly-designed impossible-to-access stupid cheap part that renders the car unusable.  Heater cores fall into this category, as do sunroof drains that don’t.   I reach a point where the level of annoyance with the car exceeds whatever joy I get while driving it.

With regards to 4 and 5, I’ve told people to leave the radio off for a few minutes and listen when starting out in the morning. And if it feels wrong or different, it’s probably not your imagination.

Wow.  Electric vehicles are more expensive.  Who knew? /s

My issue with FB Marketplace is the interface sucks. If you try to show by closest, most all the ads disappear (vs. recommended). An ad will show in the general search and not in the vehicles search. You can’t access all the filters on your phone, and from time to time FB decides that your search can’t find anything

That’s an easy one. Depending on the car, getting the instrument binnacle out can either be easy or require removing the steering wheel, so you’re into the fix for a couple of hundred pretty quick. Gas gauges often mean removing the pump from the tank and possibly tracing wiring faults, both can involve a lot of time

I’ve been looking for a new sports car for a while, so seeing a lot of ads.  You would be completely amazed how many people are not willing to spend $200 to gain $2000 in purchase price.  It boggles the mind.

‘Got stuck on a fully-loaded flight leaving St. Louis. It started snowing. So the plane leaves the terminal to take off; sits in line, and has to return to the terminal to de-ice. Rinse/repeat about three times.

Own a C230 and have a full set now

RAV4-generic from the sides and back; What the Hell is That! from the front.

Surprised I haven’t seen this, but R56 Mini Cooper S.  Oil leaks, tensioner failure, cracked head caused it to overpressure the coolant tank, and to cap it off, it ate the end of a sparkplug and junked the engine.   And this for a car I religiously watched the oil, as the direct-injection used some, and the sump was

If you asked the average person if they’d spend more than 5 minutes of effort for $5k of money, everyone would probably say “Yes”.  Yet, if you look at CL or FB marketplace, the ads with adequate pictures or information are rare, and people actually get hostile when you ask questions.  Humans are generally stupid.

bottom line: the American public has been sold, overtly or not, the notion that a car w/o AWD is some kind of rolling death trap. Subaru thanks you for that. I’d submit the top three things in ascending order would be:

I mean, c’mon, that system has worked out for your cable provider. Right?

Maybe. However, large awards are usually in situations where not only did a company fail to deal with a specific person or situation, but made it a company policy to disregard similar situations, and there are emails/communication to back that up. What did the judge say in their comments regarding the verdict?

for 10k and no rust, that’s NP for someone. The GTV is one of two cars that made me fall in love with cars. 1978 worked a summer camp and one of the leaders had one in red. Still distinctly remember sitting in it. The other was a friend’s 2002.  When you consider what American cars were like then, those two were a

Can’t speak for Mercedes, but their neighbors BMW have radiators and other cooling components of plastic that disintegrate. ECS sells a complete kit for the E46 for example.  And 100k is the magic number for failures to begin

There you go, thinking rationally.  While the possibility of the seller hiding something should always be considered, you’d be surprised how often people who don’t understand cars/trucks will panic and sell a vehicle that could be fixed.   They don’t understand it and don’t want to bother with it.  Remember the survey

The first car for a kid needs to be post 2000 at least for air bags, on the larger side for safety, and disposable. Don’t worry about reliability.

In terms of style, without peer.  In terms of value, without merit.  ND.

My best friend in high school had this car in black, with the machined-turned aluminum dash.   Standard shift.   What I’m wondering though; his car had a v6, and to my knowledge wasn’t custom (this was 1979).  Did someone do a swap or did some of these come with a six?
