I had an ‘84, and a 87' turbo. Both great cars. The 84 was still on the original engine at 185k. Before leaky injectors or miserly oil amounts, the engines could last. The 87 had the best transmission I’ve ever had, even compared to my Miata. Still, a red Alfa was the car I met at 16. I remember sitting in the

Thanks a lot. Now I have that stupid theme music running through my head.

Fire probably started from some ash-hole flicking their cigarette butt out the window. Happens all the time in dry states.

Buttons and gauges and knobs, oh my! Beautiful

The lead in fuel back then helped lube the valves whilst belching into the air, encouraging the psychedelic sixties. Unleaded meant more wear and some changes needed.

I’ll take what is probably a contrarian view here: Compared to similar sedans, it’s nice styling. Not sure about the cheese-grater face, but it’s fine.

Yeah, I've been hoping for one in Java green. Try that these days. Black, white, silver, maroon....

How about you go back to de-caf?   It’s a freakin’ car site.

I’m sure recent houses are now getting built with gargantuan garages to accommodate the “buffoon barges” absolutely required to get Braiden and Heather to soccer practice.

Unlike the picture, and this being VW, I’m sure it’ll be offered in any color you want, as long as it’s black or silver...

The fun part is when you buy the pre diluted stuff and don't realize it til later, and have to spend more money refilling.

Don’t you have a friend’s Land Rover in the back yard?

As the owner of a tagalong trailer, I can verify this.  Super short trailers are very hard to see, and very hard to back up.  A fixed hitch with swivel wheels would be a better idea, if you could keep it short.

Thanks a lot; now I'm cleaning coffee off the monitor

Mercedes’ plastic-and-broken-electronics era". I know some people will say this has never ended, but when was this era? I've a project c230 that certainly qualifies

I’ll vote NP. I had one of these in the 90's; in fact, I wonder if that’s my old car. It had a solid feel more like a Euro car vs. US, it was comfortable, reasonably fast, and hatchback.

Yep.  I’ve looked at the later MR2's from time to time, but no matter the layout and the flingable fun, couldn’t get past the unfortunate looks.

Wow. An R56 is pretty much worst case scenario. You're ready for an old Italian sports car now.

Been there did that; drove it 100k more miles

I think you have the solution there. HD needs to market a new sportbike line, even resurrect Buell, in it’s own dealerships, and let the Harley network die.  The existing dealers will never accept the change in culture necessary to survive; if you look at history it’s full of cultures that never managed to say: “Maybe
