A general goal should be to reduce stoppages, not create more.

It was cute that one time when Rod Strickland and C-Webb sorta gave the Bulls trouble, but got swept anyway.

Not if they’re called for a Flagrant 1. This is really not all that hard to police.

The tactical foul to stop fast breaks can be so easily remedied by allowing “advantage” play. I.e., the ref tracks the foul but does not blow the whistle so that the attacking team can still finish their 3 on 1 break, and the foul is called after the bucket or during the next stoppage.

I agree with most of your take here except for the suggestion that MCU [characters] were mainstream before the recent movies; Iron Man, Thor, Captain, et al were B-rate characters whose mainstream recognition was nowhere near what Superman, Batman, X-Men, and Spidey had for decades.

American professional sports, in general, are broken and hilariously favor management over labor.

Good reminder. I’m so glad that a state with a cleaner history of civil rights will win tonight.

Shame. He was such a likable guy before this.

They just liked it better that way.

Maybe he really is just kind of a dick? Seems like he might be a dick.

“Poor” franchises have little incentive to spend when there is no real downside to prolonged lack of success, whether it due to incompetence or The Process, because every one of them makes money from revenue share.

Rays’ raison d’etre is not to play competitive baseball, but rather to claim a 1/30th stake in MLB’s gravy train. This is what happens when a closed-off league creates a system to ensure profitability for even the most miserly and cynical franchise at the cost of labor and fans. Boycott this abortion of a club.

LFC supporter here. Both of their goals were fair.

Also, Dan Soder doesn’t just do an impression of Randy Savage, he becomes Randy Savage.

MLBPA really fucked up when they allowed a salary cap to pass, while clubs became better at exploiting compensation rules vis-a-vis age and performance, however cynical and shameless. Players should strike.

For once, Trump was not lying about tariffs on American products.

Reminds me of this passage from TJ English’s Westies, a true story of Irish mob in New York.

I don't know, Charlie Weis did almost beat USC that one time.

Huh, that was your takeaway? Relax, I am not blaming you. I am saying that when family tragedy happens to close friends, that news will eventually trickle to you without Facebook. And your friend wouldn’t —or shouldn’t, anyway— blame you for not knowing because he’d understand that you had not been informed.
