This reminds me of David Allen in GTD. I don't remember the exact words, but I've taken away the need to imagine what your project will look like if it is amazingly successful, what it can look like if it fails, and what it looks like to simply be successfully completed. This keeps you from planning for an average

I had a Tandy PC5 or PC6 from Radio Shack in the 80s, but got my first real desktop in 1995. I can't remember what kind that desktop was - just a generic monitor/CPU. That Tandy, though...I wrote many Basic programs on there. I was exposed to coding for the first time on it, using its thick manual to learn new

Any game you can add to steam as a non-steam game, you can use. You just create a shortcut from within Steam, copy the Steam link, create a custom Pin, and paste the Steam link into it. Press Win+C to see the FAQ, I think.

I have started skipping Steam altogether, choosing to organize my Steam games on the Windows 8 Start screen. I use Pin Steam to make tiles for all the games I want to play (including non-steam ones, once they're added to Steam). I create groups on the Start screen and organize them that way. My Start screen is

Glad to help. I hope you enjoy it :)

Very glad to help. I was lucky enough to catch someone else's comment on a related thread in Reddit. I'm glad I saved at least one person the frustration I know many have experienced. I was very pleased with the results when it worked so well :)

Did you click "upgrade" or "restore?" I did "upgrade" and didn't have to restore from a backup. It was ready as soon as the upgrade was done - music and all.

Reddit shows different downloads for model numbers, based on CDMA vs GSM. The iPhone 5 link here has 1428 in the file name, but this link shows that as the GSM and not the one I need. I can't say how correct that is, but maybe it's helpful before someone makes a mistake:

I feel the same way. I'm eager to jump in, but remember my last iPhone getting really slow and rapidly losing battery power on it's last official update, causing me to have to update from what *was* a perfectly good phone. But it's still killing me right now to know it's right there...

The name of the file for iPhone 5 is "ios_7_gm_seed__iphone_5_model_a1428__11a465.dmg" if that helps? I'm interested to know, now that I've seen your comment.

I would prefer to boot to desktop and use it as I used to use the start menu - bringing it up by pressing the Win key. Otherwise, most of my programs are pinned to the task bar like the Mac dock. For now, when I boot I simply press the Firefox icon from the start menu or press Win+D to get to what I'm actually going

I don't understand the "named groups" on the start page being a new addition? You can already drag the icons into groups, and separate them by where you drop the icon. By clicking the button on the bottom-right corner (almost un-noticeable without watching the tutorial videos posted on Lifehacker when Win8 first

Good point. I've been lucky enough to not face that problem, yet, thankfully.

Instead of multiple accounts, you could also try emailaccount+word@gmail.com. Gmail ignores anything after the "+" but you can filter by it.

Yeah, I agree - it wouldn't let him pick out an outfit any better, since he can't judge what it looks like. It could be the same system without the photo, really - just index cards with some way of identifying the pieces of clothing. I'm a visual person, so I think I'd still like to see the clothes, but I'm not

I have a friend who is color blind, and ends up wearing some funny outfits if he accidentally picks the wrong colors, thinking they go together. I can see a system like this, with the pictures of outfits, helping him pick clothes that match without having to memorize a few number of good outfits.

I haven't heard of one, sorry. I hope they do, because it's fun that everyone should enjoy
