True, but Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are arguably quite iconic and recognizable. Even before Nolan, its not much of a stretch to believe that Batman would have a Bat-satellite to monitor crime. And Guardians of the Galaxy showed that a superhero movie can work without that investment.

For all the quibbles about the Justice League: Mortal script, it is essentially the same scaffolding Avengers:AOU, with Batman subbing for Iron Man, Maxwell Lord/Omac replacing Ultron and Quicksilver filling in for Flash.

Darkman and the original Robocop are 2 of my favorite superhero movies, and both still feel better constructed than most films in the genre. Darkman is more of a pulp hero, like The Shadow or The Avenger (the character with a malleable face).

Whatever the flaws of The Long Kiss Goodnight, Geena Davis was awesome in it. Her partnership with Renny Harlin is the primary reason she didn’t break out as an action star, imo. And she is also a highly talented dramatic and comedic actress. Davis would have made a fantastic Wonder Woman.

The Squad is like the Dirty Dozen — criminals facing life in prison or a death sentence, recruited to be expendable soldiers on a clandestine, probably fatal mission. Since the good guys are even more unscrupulous than the team, one ends up sympathizing with the soldiers.
