Japan is also an archipel with a stronger attachment to sea and its imagery than what “continental” countries would have.
I’m not sure what you expected posting a Tsunami joke on Kotaku other than a pair of japanophiles teasing you for forcing the link between an (inter)national catastrophy and common sea imagery.

That sounds like the fault of the cross-promotion with KFC based on article (gift cards).
I wonder what will happen with the emote once the promotion ends. Removed? Replaced with a chicken roast? Kept as is?

The store page makes sense as people who want to avoid all matters of sexist material in games will be correctly warned by the bullet point and people who are attracted by generally sexually suggestive content will take good note of it...

Anyone with the japanese version has more luck finding if there’s a clearer message in the level names here?

I’d love to see kirby get the open world treatment.

The Discovery Tour mode is separate from the base game and is rated T by ESRB and 12+ by Pegi. The seashells only appear in this mode.

I’ll prefer to treat timelines of different series as separate things, even if they share characters.
The Donkey Kong Country universe has its own timeline with its own Donkey Kong, while the Mario universe has another one with a similar Donkey Kong. They might share a character, but their are working on different

In a lot of languages, Labo is the short term for Laboratory because of the pronounciation of sounds, including Japanese (and French!).

Laboratory (~= STEM toy)

@TaichouLance Apparently yes, you can ask this guy who tested it:

The whole “vibrate along the floor” is just the RC car and maybe that human doll thingy.

The thing is we don’t even know how much there is in the software. You didn’t even mention the Coding part of Nintendo Laboratory for example, because they showed so little of it.

This has what to do with video games?

Compared to the cost of say Mario Odyssey or Zelda? I can’t imagine the cost is anywhere close to those.

It was about video games AND it was topical to the times, the two things that people usually like to point out first when missing. It even has an actual punchline! Remove that easy target, and there’s not much “criticism” left beside tastes differences.

The software was probably cheap to make compared to other games
