I didn’t think it did, or if it did the driver turned it off. (ESP would have been doing all kinds of crazy things to stop a spin like that) Love or hate the system, it can do things that no human can do like hit the brakes on individual wheels. Undoubtedly, it removes skill from the equation as there is a computer…
Did Foresters have stability control in that era? I know you can't beat physics with ESP but it seems like a system like that would have sorted this mistake out.....
I had one of those as a rental car back in 2010, high speed stability was a joke. Anything north of 80mph the car wobbled like hell. For a rental car awesome, to own everyday at common price points of the day, a piece of crap.
Damn right, there is even a song about it :-)
Some say he is -1114.71 in his bank account, but if he got busted driving around in the drunken state he was in, he would likely be -10,000 in his bank account right now or even more. In certain ways I am not looking forward to autonomous cars taking over, but in this aspect I am looking forward to it. Let cops do…
the video is 7 minutes 07 seconds.....nice....
You can actually get a Speed edition for 94k! (more HP then the normal Conti GT) http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/…
Looks like that car was pre-delivery, wondering if some dealer techs were taking it out for a “test drive”.
Not that I am defending this horrid design choice but keep in mind Nav systems were sort of after thoughts in these cars as their designs were probably completed in the early to mid 90’s without nav. Total duck tape add on job by the designers for sure. Not that the D3 body A8 got it right either.
Isn’t Demuro buying one of these?
