I agree with everything in the article, but take in consideration this: even if this is a story for women made by a man (and even if is a piece of shit as story), 1.- It was very successful, so I assume women LIKE stories made by men and 2.- Still is better than Twilight and 50 shades of crap (both written by women).

One comment: the problem is not the Heroes Journey, is the trivial and lazy application of this powerful concept. Campbell steps are very powerful tools of analysis and creation, but filmmakers fail to understand them deeply, and only apply them as a formula.
