I watched the first few episodes of the first season and was not that impressed. The story seems to be intriguing but found the acting and dialogues to be cheesy at times. Does it get better?

Well, the Nepalese name for the mountain is Sagarmatha and the Tibetan is Qomolangma. As always, an explorer from the west saw a need to give it an English name, and in this case his own name, because the dude apparently "discovered" it. How do you discover something new when people have known it forever?
