As an Asian non-programmer living in California, I dropped off my ballot last week. +1 for permanent Vote by Mail. So you don’t have to be white or a programmer to vote. Just live in a state that isn’t crazy.

I wonder if it’s more of a culture thing. Wheeler Dealers is British. Top Gear is British. I usually point to Kitchen Nightmares as an example of differences between British and American reality shows. The British KN is amazing and focuses on the restaurant and the food. Living in Northern San Jose, I remember the crowds gathering at the local Shell station before races. Even now, everyonce in a while, there’d be maybe 30 or 50 cars driving around together with their loud fucking exhausts. I have no idea if they’re racing, but there’s still a bit of a tuner community in SJ.
