I once concepted a multimedia documentary series that was going to deep dive on reenactors of all sorts, with the first chapter focused on Civil War reenactors. The whole thing fell apart in the early stages, but not before a friend and I went to one of these reenactments and spent a blistering hot Virginia summer day

I once had a chunk of wood about one inch long embedded in my big toe for a month and never noticed.

I’ve filmed a lot of reenactments over the years shooting history documentaries for PBS.  And yeah, civil war reenacting is weird.  There are some guys who will ONLY reenact as Confederate.  It’s not just living history.  It’s reliving history.

I had ancestors who fought for the Confederacy, ancestors who fought for the Union and ancestors who were Anabaptists that were anti slavery from the get go.

You should always specify the little toe. Big toes are built to take punishment.  Little toes will tear right off.

If I were reenacting a civil war battle, I’d volunteer to be in whichever company sat under a shady tree the longest and let the unresearched new guys take the side that spent the whole day climbing a sunny hill in heavy wool clothing.

On first glance I read it as Final Battle. Even after reading the article it took me a second to realize why you thought it was Anal Battle.

That was another cool scene, where she was reciting the trigger words and nothing happens until he just breaks down in tearful relief. You might be right about Ayo. I’m hoping she gets more screen time in this series and the next movies. There’s a rumor that there’s a Wakanda series on the slate too so the sky’s the

Lol okay Kenneth. By all means, show me your “data.” Otherwise, kindly stfu.

Wait a minute...so the officer accidentally grabbed wrong weapon, accidentally UNHOLSTERED the wrong weapon, accidentally removed safety, accidentally AIMED A WEAPON and didn’t feel in the hand it was a gun...gun which is A LOT heavier than a taser, especially if fully loaded.

ACAB through and through.

Dennis is acting exactly as Kyrie was acting at that same age (that clip above from Boston was at least 2 years ago).
And after that cheap foul, Dennis was ready to fight. The question is how much weaker is Kyrie’s mind getting, because I guarantee you that if LeBron was willing to take a punch to the nuts to win a

Saying, “I need an ID to buy a candy bar with my credit card so why shouldn’t I need my ID to vote,” is a false equivalence, but it has the appeal of being logically sound on the surface. And that’s why politicians have found voter ID laws to be such a potent weapon.

I have to respectfully disagree and point out that voter ID laws are objectively racist in that they disproportionately effect poor communities of color.

I like you linked to a case that has absolutely nothing to do with this case. Internet lawyering!

I like that the expert witness pointedly refused his fee, hopefully because he knew it was the right thing to do, but also because it completely took away the defense’s tired “how much are you being paid to lie?” bullshit they always play.  And as a bonus, it sounds like he offered very impactful testimony and
