...no the engineer from the company/representing the company reached out to HER off an ad she posted.

I mean, fair, but that doesn’t change the fact that Mazda could have, and should have, done more. An actual person could have benefitted infinitely more from that car, and Mazda could afford to buy the car from someone else if it was actually that important to their museum.

Lol we could make a bunch of random ass assumptions but all we have is the press release. Based on that information, mazda should have done more, or the woman should have given the car away to a human being not a corporation.

lol she could have given it to a person then. Someone who could have either sold the car for a profit because money matters, or someone who could have driven and enjoyed the car.

Lol as you could have read in another comment, she could have given it to a person, who could have then loved or sold the car at a profit. They could have donated a sum to a charity in her name. They could have created a scholarship or named part of their factory or something, literally anything more that the pittance

I take it personally because we, as a society, have succumbed to people valuing multibillion dollar corporations over actual human beings lol just because you like the taste of boot leather doesn’t mean you should.

Fair, but given what we know about corporations being pieces of shit whenever possible, and minimizing cost, we can both accurately assume that they paid/did as little as humanly possible.

I found it lol

btw I’m sure she knew someone personally who could have benefitted infinitely more. A neighbor, a family member, anyone she knew personally could have either A. kept the car. or B. Sold it for a massive profit that would change their lives forever.

“help others” lol Mazda could easily buy any number of EXTREMELY LOW miles examples that are on sale for thousands of dollars, and it wouldn’t be more than a rounding error on their quarterly financials, but instead found an old lady to get a car for free for their museum?

lol that doesn’t change the fact that the company COULD EASILY STILL DO SOMETHING more than just take the car. They could make a fat donation in her name to charity, create a wing of the factory named after her, name a special edition car, literally so many things.

I would rather they PAY her for it lol she maintained that vehicle better than most, and she should be compensated for that. I don’t care that the car is going to a museum, I care that she’s not getting paid for it.

But again, that’s for individuals, regular people. Helping others out makes complete sense. Helping billion dollar corporations who can be bailed out by the government does not...

I know they’re struggling, but something bothers me about a Billion dollar company being “donated” an asset that is easily worth 20-30K.

Jeep Liberty.

I agree with everything you said but Trump has already said no government vehicles will be electric so that counts that plan out

not cars, but McDonnell Douglass and Boeing
