You continue to ignore that Joe straight up says, no question about it, that he is Barry's adoptive father. What more could you possibly need? Do you want the show to go through all the legal documents? Taking a person's last name isn't required to be considered a person's legal child. On Jessica Jones, Jessica was

I quoted Joe literally referring to himself as Barry's adoptive father. I gave the the episode number and time code so you could verify it. There's no way around this. Joe adopted Barry.

So, what, 11 year old Barry had no legal guardian? CPS isn't okay with a child who "just lived" at some place with a guy who isn't a legal parent. That's not how these things work. Taking a persons last name, especially at Barry's age, isn't required in adoption. It's well-established in Batman that Bruce was adopted

If Snyder would do that scene, he'd have Supes fail to save Regan. Then have scene after scene of Supes beating himself up and talking about what a horrible, cruel place the world is.

This is the reason I love Winter Soldier so much. The world and everything around Cap is dark and gritty, yet Cap himself is still the beacon of light he's always been. Kinda symbolic of the MCU in the larger film world when you think about it.

Is anyone aware if Kim is getting the stupid misogynistic rage elsewhere? She's not here and commenters tend to be pretty reasonable on the AV Club, so I was wondering if she was getting bashed on like Reddit or something. Just curious from a sociological perspective.

Okay, so it'd be legal incest (i.e. recognized as incest by the law) between Thea and Robert. I'm pretty sure Joe legally adopted Barry. Ergo, a romantic relationship between Barry and Iris would be legal incest.

They cast an actress who's supposed be an upcoming love interest for Sara, so it doesn't look like she'll be hooking up with any of the regulars for now.

Jesus dude, calm down. This isn't worth getting angry over.

Exactly. Kim objects to Jimmy's unethical behavior as well, but unlike Chuck, she wants Jimmy to be a better person. Chuck does it because he's a prick who likes to look down on his younger brother. If anyone's the moral center of the show, it's Kim.

I find that hard to believe. How about Thea and Robert Queen? He wasn't her biological dad after all.

She did ask. She said: "What about my father, Laurel, Felicity?"

William was playing with one at the end of 4x08.

I don't think so. To the public Green Arrow and the Arrow are two different people. And even if that weren't the case, they have an action figure of Captain Cold, a known killer, so pretty much anyone can get their own toy.

Hell, the Superman on Supergirl, who's characterization and personality we only know from a few instant messages and others' talking about him, is far closer to the genuine Superman than Snyder's film.

If only Joe knew an actual engineer. Maybe someone who worked at one of the most recognized laboratories, for one of the greatest scientists in the world. Someone who can build in a cold, heat, and gold gun in the span of two hours.

Exactly what I was thinking.

The genetics isn't the point of it, it's the relationship they had growing up. Would you not find it incestual if Barry and Joe started dating?

I thought she lost because she spent the whole debate trying to think of a come back to Ollie's sick burn about bringing the house down.

I like Zoom's motivation. He's basically a super powered drug user. He's addicted to the speed force and he has the ability to do crazy things in order to get more. Not every villain needs to some grandiose goal. Hell, even Eobard Thawne was just a pissed off ex-member of the church of Flash who wanted to go home. I
