Yep. CDPR isn’t the darling it was before Cyberpunk. Not exactly a great look to need almost 2 years post release to make your game a 1.0 version.

Still haven’t played it - but do want to, and I’m glad they’ve stuck with it and worked on improving it. At this point I’m going to wait until it’s “finished” before hopping in - not like we lack for good games - but as much vitriol as they recieved upon release, they definitely deserve some credit now.

Back when CDPR had their data breach, I think their code for Cyberpunk was leak and they had to change out computers. Maybe Rockstar found the leak and was able to make changes quickly enough...

Half-Life 2 is the best example, more than 90% of the original half-life 2 code was leaked online. without any way to really stop it (the DMCA was still very young at the time) valve chose to scrap everything and re-do it from the ground up which delayed the game a few years.

It’s a game in early fucking alpha, of fucking course it’s a placeholder. It might fit the general size and shape of the character, but they’re probably still working on finalizing the character’s fucking design.

The problem is that videogame development is messy, things that were planned turn out to not be fun, features dev talked about are cut because there isn’t enough time to finish them, and so on. I will always advocate for increased transparency from developers and publishers, but I don’t want to sit here and argue that developers should always be this transparent.

It has been amazing to watch - seeing that the sandbox is made up of all these interactions that we don’t see is not really surprising to me - what’s interesting is that you COULD do the same interaction with so few of these things happening under the hood, but then the dynamic interaction possibilities with the world…
