I’d settle for a adaptive cruise that didn’t feel like you’re hitting a brick wall and then constantly bumping up against it instead of gradually decelerating when approaching a car.
I’m glad i’m not the only one thinking this. This clearly is an answer to the Mazda interior design in the Mazda 3.
GM did this well into the ‘90s. One key for the door and a separate one for the ignition.
Looks like Mazda’s approach is taking off.
My Viper has extra wiring from the factory in the rearview mirror specifically designed to connect a radar detector.
I used to love the ‘Swing’ feature on a friends Mazda 626 in college. Basically you pushed a button and it made the center air vents constantly rotate back and forth so they were blowing out the a/c like an oscillating fan.
Did they staple the minivan front end on it?
The ability to open and close the windows (and sunroof where applicable) with the key remote. All VW’s have the capability, but you have to code it in yourself with an OBDII device.
I’m with you, Toyota has tons of engines at its disposal. If they really wanted to make the the twins more fraternal and not identical they could’ve just stuffed something else under the hood.
Someone is always going to complain about something.
$30,000 is very overpriced. And I absolutely love this platform, but if the 400Z entry price rumors are true, especially with an LSD, then this is shaping up for very dismal sales.
One should not underestimate the value of personal experience. I bought my first car in 1965 and my first new car in 1968 and have bought a variety of new and used vehicles since then. I have had my best experiences buying cars new and keeping them for a long time, 10+ years. I am old enough, 74, that I will likely…
This was my thought as well... don’t give me some austere interior that looks like an Apple Store designer’s wet dream, if I’m not meant to drive the car give me a comfortable place with like a couch, a TV, and a bar or something.
Shouldn’t the interior be less minimalistic and more customizable to suit the owner’s interests since they’ll be focused more on comfort than on driving?
I like that they admit the Model 3's interior is shit to use specifically because you weren’t meant to actually drive the car. Considering how far away Level 5 autonomy is, that goes beyond “putting the cart before the horse.” The horse hasn’t even been born yet.
This is obviously a comment from Reddit, but I find the lack of logic illuminating:
I feel like the same general advice of “don’t treat Kickstarter as pre-orders” applies here.
Better than Comic Sans
Most people buy off the lot. That’s what the dealers push because it gets product off their lots and ledgers. I wish we could go back to when dealers kept a handful of cars and would help you custom order your car instead of filling cars onto lots bigger than football fields.
